Jay Weinberg will be part of the artist lineup at next year’s Music City Drum Show, taking place in Nashville, Tennessee. Organizers confirmed that the longtime metal drummer is scheduled to appear on Saturday, July 19, as part of the show’s artist feature series.

Jay Weinberg is currently behind the kit for Suicidal Tendencies, having joined the group after Brooks Wackerman moved on to join Avenged Sevenfold. Since stepping into the role, Weinberg has added his own edge to the band’s already raw and aggressive sound. Known for his intensity and high-energy performances, he’s no stranger to demanding live sets or packed venues.
Before his current gig, Jay Weinberg spent nearly ten years drumming for Slipknot. He joined the group in 2014, following the departure of founding drummer Joey Jordison. During his time with Slipknot, he played on three full-length albums: The Gray Chapter, We Are Not Your Kind, and The End, So Far. His run with the band marked a major chapter in his career, putting him on stages around the globe and cementing his place in the heavy music scene.
But his musical range goes far beyond just metal. Weinberg grew up in a musical household: his father is Max Weinberg, the longtime drummer for Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band. Over the years, Jay has dabbled in punk, hardcore, and rock, and he’s even filled in for his dad during E Street Band shows. That kind of versatility has helped him carve out a reputation as a drummer who can do a lot more than just play fast and loud.
The Music City Drum Show itself has grown steadily in recent years. What started as a regional event has turned into a well-attended gathering for drummers, gear enthusiasts, and educators from all over the country. It’s a mix of hands-on product demos, artist clinics, live performances, and opportunities for fans to connect with some of their favorite players. Both boutique makers and big-name brands are expected to be on-site again this year.
Weinberg’s scheduled session will likely include a performance or demonstration, and there’s a good chance he’ll also take questions from the audience. Whether he’s sharing personal insights or breaking down technique, attendees can expect an up-close look at his approach to drumming.
