SONOR Drums, the historic German drum manufacturer celebrated for its meticulous craftsmanship and innovation, has announced the addition of drummer Dena Tauriello to its prestigious artist roster. With a career that bridges Broadway, rock arenas, television appearances, and educational outreach, Tauriello brings a wealth of experience and versatility to the brand.
In an official statement, SONOR described Dena Tauriello as “an accomplished drummer, educator, and Broadway mainstay,” highlighting a résumé that spans major theatrical productions, national tours, and high-profile recording credits. Currently, she holds the drum chair for the GRAMMY-nominated Off-Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors, and serves as a substitute drummer and percussionist for Broadway’s Hamilton and Six.

Tauriello’s Broadway credits are as diverse as they are impressive, including Head Over Heels, Kristin Chenoweth: For the Girls, Beetlejuice, The Cher Show, and The Heart of Rock and Roll. She’s also appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers, further underlining her dynamic presence across both live and broadcast platforms.
Her choice to join the SONOR family was deeply rooted in the demands of theatrical performance. “Broadway pits require precision and consistency not just in terms of performance, but also in terms of sound,” she said. “The feel, tone, look, and craftsmanship of SONOR drums are unmatched and will help me deliver night after night.” Her preferred kits include the SONOR Vintage and ProLite series.
Before her Broadway success, Tauriello spent nearly two decades touring and recording with the all-female rock band Antigone Rising, signed to Lava/Atlantic Records. The band’s debut release, From the Ground Up, sold over 250,000 copies as part of a partnership with Starbucks’ Hear Music series. Tauriello performed with the group on The Today Show, The Tonight Show, and VH1, and took part in two international tours as a U.S. Arts Envoy in Israel, Palestine, and Vietnam.
Her session and live performance credits include work with artists such as Josh Groban, Jennifer Holliday, Nicole Scherzinger, Vanessa Williams, Audra McDonald, Lea Salonga, and Rob Thomas, reflecting her ability to move effortlessly across genres and settings.
Outside of performance, Tauriello is an active clinician, freelance writer, and a Certified Drum Therapist with the D.A.D. (Drums and Disabilities) program. Her commitment to rhythm as both a healing force and a vehicle for expression makes her an influential figure in both music and education. Her work has been profiled in Modern Drummer and featured in the cultural drumming book Sticks ‘n’ Skins.
