It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Peter Jackson, longtime drummer for North Carolina deathcore/melodic death metal band Killwhitneydead. His death was confirmed by vocalist Matt Rudzinski in a heartfelt message on the band’s official channels.
Jackson joined Killwhitneydead in 2005, stepping in after the departure of original drummer Justin Collins. He quickly became a cornerstone of the band’s powerful rhythm section and a fan favorite for his energetic live performances.
In a tribute, Rudzinski wrote:
“We have some sad news to report. Our longtime drummer, Peter Jackson, has tragically passed away. We want to extend our deepest condolences to his family at this time.
Anybody who met Peter at one of our shows knows he was a funny, friendly guy, plus one hell of a drummer. I will always cherish the years we shared on the road, sweating it out summer after summer.
Rest In Power.”
Peter’s contributions to the band and the underground metal community left a lasting impression. His skill behind the kit and his positive spirit will not be forgotten.
