The legendary Steve Gadd

I always hear people talk about Night Sprite, but man, the rest of The Leprechaun is also great. This album might be my favorite Gadd performance.
 
I think he has has been playing Yamaha for a long time. The DrummerWorld posted a clip of him on YouTube today from years ago.
The clip is not sharp, but that the badge on that snare appears to be a Ludwig if I am not mistaken.

That smile from Eric pointing out to Gadd he was just a bit too early with the "solo climax" kicks...:)
 
Listen to Gadd and his placement of his notes on that break between him and James. It's just absolute genius, musicality and the timing of it all is just mindblowing...
 
it's not the Ride it's the far right crash : )
Then he uses it for the Ride in Steam Roller- I think it was a musical change (not any damage relation hmm..
