Josh Freese out as Foo Fighters drummer

This makes no sense.

Josh was the perfect guy for the gig.

I am not saying other people can't do it and be fine, but everything about Josh fit the gig.

His relationship with Taylor, his relationship with Dave. That had previously toured behind albums Dave has played on. Age, experiences. Everything pointed to Josh.

And then to just fire him coldly like that?

Makes Dave look bad IMHO.

'Ol DG is taking a big hit in the PR department, both personally and professionally. Maybe he's not such a nice guy after all. We have next to no info, but I'm guessing Josh took a gig that conflicted with FF, so he got bounced. I mean, if that's true, why would you hire one of THE in-demand players in the first place and then be shocked he took other work? That is probably THE challenge that hired guns are up against.

I was so surprised by this. Josh seemed like the perfect fit both musically and personally. My guesses are that it's either a personality issue or Josh's meter is simply too perfect and they want a drummer that is a little looser.

I say Dave Elitch to fill in for their upcoming show, then after that - No idea.

Yikes. I can just imagine Elitch pulling Dave aside to share his thoughts on posture and getting out of his own way...

Josh also went out on tour with Foo Fighters while APC was on Maynard's sessanta tour and Gunnar did double duty with Puscifer and APC so it's not like he hadn't prioritized FF.

I was there too and that was my impression also. Josh played great and the music seemed elevated, somehow. A bit more polished than what I was used to from the Foo Fighters, who played Bluesfest in 2018. You were probably there too, Jim.
 
Josh Freese is too good for the most milquetoast rock band ever. Grohl would crap all over Hawkins time keeping. He can't feed his own ego crapping on Josh's abilities.
