Only if the new one is snaller. I think the other way around which is a good thing nwow, thats definitely shrunk in the wash!!
glad i use ahead, their cases seem so far to stay the same sizes.
Older one is smaller one on the right.Older case is on the left or right?
It fits much nicer in the older/smaller version. The new one is too big imo, it flops around the drum a lot.Does the indicated drum size fit correctly in the smaller bag? If it does is there less padding than the larger offering? Curious...
Yep - fits perfectly. The new 'oversize' one is too big imo...Weird!!
I had a similar issue with my PR cymbal bag. It clearly states 24" but it fits a 22" cymbal very snugly. No way is it a 24". (The reason I bought the bag in the first place...)
Have you tried putting a 6.5" snare in that smaller bag?
Perhaps the oversized ones are for "American snares"...Yep - fits perfectly. The new 'oversize' one is too big imo...
Always carry a spare batter but not a reso - though I've never needed it and I've been gigging consistently for over 30 years now. (The spare batter also fits in the smaller case btw)I would place a couple of new heads in the larger snare bag. Always carry a spare snare side anyway.
And see the strainer. The new PR almost looks more like a 15" (or even 16")
Apart from the RIMS versions, my PR cases don't seem oversized.
That being said, the PR AAA 14x8 case I got for my Sonor last year isn't exactly small either:
Agreed, but the Sonor strainer is large. And see the strainer.
That is why its bigger.
You don’t want that part snug fit.
