What's your "day" job?

National Sales Manager for an environmental instrumentation company.

I retire in June though thanks to some investment work - then full time on our arts company and musician - but with a good enough base that our bills are covered.

Life is great :)
Man that’s awesome congrats on retiring and a welcomed change to follow you passions.

Survival. Both humans and non-human humanoids alike want my head. Back before y'all started burying your dead my kind had a purpose. We are supposed to be cleanup like turkey vultures. Now we are hated and sought out for destruction.

Before I became infected with the virus I was a cobbler.

I don’t know why, but I love watching cobblers and similar professions do their thing on YouTube. Like watching someone handmake a suit or something. Fascinating.

As for the topic, I’m lucky enough that drumming is my day job. Not that I don’t work extraordinarily hard at it, but I still consider myself lucky to be able to do what I love and provide well for my family doing it. Tis a blessing.

I’m retired from my earth job but I’m actually Emperor of this galaxy- the Milky Way. I made up that name bet you can’t guess why? Well anyways I like to stay out of the limelight and prefer my secret life. See I’m a great ruler -no one even knows I rule. My oracle powers and secret laboratory on dark side of moon helps to keep it all secret. Oops!
Hey! Me too!! 😁
Hang on...
DEATH TO THE IMPOSTER! 😠 🌩

Came out of retirement 5 years ago when I was hired as a church worship music and arts director. I play live all the time now.

"It's not work if you love what you do."

I'm a professional eater..never won a contest yet but my rooms and lunches are free. If I ever win I'm slippin on my Pearl free floater t-shirt to get those free to!.

Do you play golf? Have you watched it on TV?
I am the guy who maintains all the equipment that maintains the course. Greens, tees, fairway, and roughs mowers. Bunker rakes, tractors, loaders, skid steers, track hoes, and yes, golf carts, string trimmers, and the good old pushmower.
I've worked the $29.95 public course and I've worked the places you've seen on TV (in America, I'm open to relocate) as well as everything in between.
I was an ASE Master Tech, but people and their cars suck.
I'm licensed to repair commercial HVAC.
I've: layed asphalt and concrete, landscaped, barbacked, bartended, washed dishes, steamed crabs, built boats, served the US Army, sold women's shoes, sold kitchenware, sold used cars, repo'd cars, dance counter at the strip club, and the commerce of nefarious items.

Like I said in another thread, jack of all trades, master of like 3.

How did you convince the women to give you their shoes to sell? Tell tell!!

You silver tongued drummer!

Uncanny.

I've been running a commercial recording studio for around 13 years until 2013. Since then my business is developing/selling software to and doing consulting for the pro audio industry.

Almost as east as you can go and as north in NSW.
Was an RN as well until a few years ago, surrendered the registration because I'm just short of finishing up..... :)
Good to see a brother on here.

You guys do a fantastic job.

Quick on your feet, really good problem solving skills, good rhythm strip analysis.

Enjoyed that part of my life.

Ive been in the back transferring vented patients to tertiary hospitals......... tearing along the freeway as a P1 is an experience!

At one point I derived a decent amount of income from drums in a wedding band after doing the originals/cover gig thing but the whole time working as a Finance/Data Analytics professional. I punted the wedding thing once I was making enough as a cube dweller (as well as my wife making enough in a similar IT role). Also, the long frantic hours on the laptop caused some arm/tendon issues which drumming didn't help.

About 2012 or so I ended up starting up the Workforce Mgt department at a Fortune 5 company and now I manage a team responsible for a $6.8B annual labor budget for said company. It doesn't suck.

It also allows me to play when I want to, for who I want to and that is a nice thing. I like playing when I want to not when I HAVE to......big difference.
