My band headlined and sold out its first major arena gig yesterday

Wait, so are you the damn singer or the damn drummer?
Kinda both... I am first and foremost a singer-songwriter, guitar player and lead singer. As are my other colleagues, We just started this band to have fiun a few years ago, where we all picked up some "other" instruments and it surprizingly quickly grew on us.

We all share vocal leads and harmony parts.

I assume most of the drums duties and sometimes also go lead from the front, leaving the throne to one of my bandmates who has decent time and feel.

So yeah! Kinda both...

Damn straight! So how do you go from "We just started this band to have fun" to selling out arenas? That's not the end result of most bands just formed for fun (or most bands, period).

I'll take a shot at that : they filled a Niche No one had filled until they came along and it brought and got a whole lot of attention with a whole lot of fine people! (I hope that sounded nice : )

In a nutshell, Joe is pretty much right :

I did a long write ups about the genesis of the band (not to confound with the band Genesis😂) on another forum that I'll try to dig up and link or copy/paste he if against forum policy.

Well thanks for getting it Joe (y)

Congratulations. Really a big success for handmade music. I'm speechless, and you deserved it.

Your video is making everybody instantly into a good mood. Of course, music is great and obviously fun, too. And you have a 'great shot'.

580.000 people and my attention goes to a 4 piece gold/orange sparkle Gretsch kit..a guitar player in a red suit and a Rickenbacher bass. Hey..our last crowd looked just LIKE that. NOT. You KNOW all in attendance were thinking whoa..check out that Gretsch! kit. 😃
