Thanks, I’m not familiar with him but I liked what I heard. A funky, improvisational, New Orleans style street parade kind of beat going on. It’s sounds like he must have a deep connection to that tradition and is putting it into a contemporary jazz context , keeping the art form alive while moving it forward.

Yes .. Yes... dear Mr. Paul Blood., I do like this your comment on the drumming style played by the *good-drummer..: Idris Muhammad.. Well, we(*jazz-fans) all know that drummer Idris Muhammad is mainly in the Hard-Bop jazz music., like..: Roach , Blakey , Haynes and many others.. But surely he is ''one'' of the few drummers that ..KEEP.. the use/*plays of the ..old.. New Orleans street-drumming march., with some *funky-beat inside*.. -x-

He's great, caught him with Ahmad Jamal ~2002ish. Great jazz drummer, great funk drummer, I've done a bunch of stuff on him.

On of my favorite drummers. I’ve stolen a ton from him. Haha
