Let's see your Gretsch kits (saved the best for last!)

I added a 16" floor & 22" bass (both 70's T Logo SSB) to the 80/81 Drop G SSB 20/12/14 that I got last year and decided to refinish them. Not perfect but I'm pretty happy with how they came out. The badges are original to each drum but I did replace the grommet and redid the patina so they matched. I upgraded the brackets to modern Gretsch diamond and upgraded the spurs to Gretsch fold out. The hoops aren't original.

Stain matching from shell to shell is not easy . Nice job .

I drove up to Richmond, VA Sunday morning to pick these up from rdavidr for a great price. 1979 SSBs in Natural Maple (22/12/13/16). They'll work perfectly with my Stones tribute band. Also got a nice tour of his home/studio. Real nice guy.

Lovely did you get the lightweight tom posts (good ole USA metal) @David Hunter and plan on using them (I would if possible come H or Hi water!)
Thanks, Joe! No tom posts included, though I got the hex rods that slide into the resin balls. I once had another SSB set that had those, and I really didn't like them. I'll use either the 12" or the 13" with a Tama Classic tom stand. David, the seller, did a simple yet clever mod to keep the bass drum tom receivers from rattling, as shown in his video below (mod is shown around 6:15):

"Not mine"...

my goodness.
what lovely flecks you have"...
I had a guy offer me a killer deal on a 20/12-14 USA Custom in that finish at the Chicago Vintage Drum Show 2 years ago . I would have been all over it if I had not flown in . If I drove I would have snapped it up and took it home . This is one of those finishes that looks far better in person than pictures can capture .

Of course, this is not mine. However, I love all drums in classic blue colors.
This is Mike Johnston's Gretsch in blue sparkle.

Rediscovered Tuning key and Last Chance to 'like a 10' otherwise I have a stick of dynamite waiting for this set around back...
~~~
Nope. No can do where's that match ..
10 years ago... 13 years... no 16 years ago this set was a 'shot in the dark'
~~
I at the time thought- 10 12 14- whats the difference the 10 is 9 deep and the 12 is 10 deep "I'm on a Roll'.
I haven't been able to 'make' up with them since.
Can't figure what-- buying nos singles like I did - was meant to be.
Totally one w/ my RB 60s 14x20 8x12 14x14 or 16x16 sets.. the 'previous chapter'...
This one? belongs to someone else.
