Yamaha Rider
After years of learning on an electronic kit - just got bounced into buying my first acoustic kit because to my amazement I was invited to join a new band at a jam session.
Spent the last of my savings on a lovely Yamaha Stage Custom I found a few miles up the road - just in time for the world economy to tank, all venues to close, my income to vanish and our (fabulous) singer to go into medical isolation ...
It's a rather cool country band. Surprising, as my drumming influences have been largely funk! Love the simple way bass drum and snare work together, with some tasty hihat accents. Although musically my tastes go from French classical to Rage Against The Machine, Eagles to Green Day, and Beach Boys to James Brown.
