Breaking sticks

Re: Breaking sticks left and right...

Trust me you dont want to try either of those. They don't feel like wood, they don't play like wood, because they are not wood. I have your problem with breaking lots of sticks. I suck it up because I play hard and I enjoy playing hard. I like the Vater sticks, they do seem a bit more dense sometimes that some of the VF's. If you like 5B I highly recommend the Vater Chad Smith Funk Blasters.
this types of answers irritate me.
Just because you don’t like Ahead sticks doesn’t mean the op won’t like them either. Ahead sticks overcome many of the issues wooden sticks have to include uneven weight and different quality wood To name a few.

No, they don’t feel the same as wooden sticks, they feel better, but he would not know if he doesn’t try them.

true...I had to try Ahead sticks before I realized that I don't like the feel or sound they make....

but I didn't have that decision before I tried them. Granted, I tried them the first year they came out, and have not since. But I haven't felt like I needed to either. The newer versions might be different feeling than those very first ones. They always felt broken to me...like how when a wooden stick is starting to break, but you can't see the crack yet

I've broken maybe two sticks over the last ten years. I'm playing soft to hard, but not slamming, which I'm sure has something to do with it. I've never been a big stick breaker.
