Correctomundo Sir !!!! I've been a 1 rack tom, 2 floor tom guy forever. I've got bigger kits ..... and smaller ones. Do whatever you want. Most gigs can be done with a 4 or 5 piece kit, hats, a ride and 2 crash. I could pair that down to 2 crash/rides (Sabian HH Vanguards are fantastic).
