It's interesting observing the confusion.A lot of responses are Celebrities who are drummers. Questions seems to address those whose celebrity is due to drumming.

Did anyone mention Levon Helm.Who do you think is a drummer who is a mainstream celebrity? That is, not just known to musicians, but by the public in general. Buddy Rich would be a prime example due to his frequent appearances as a guest on The Tonight Show. And of course Ringo, because The Beatles. But what other drummers have wide exposure to a mainstream audience?
Yeah, we all know who played with Led Zep, the Stones, The Who, U2... but could someone on the street name those drummers?
I'm thinking:
Questlove
Max Weinberg
Dave Grohl
probably Travis Barker
Who am I missing?
Jamie Oliver has known to hit the tubs.
Not only is he a great Chef his not to bad on the tubs good stuff.
Mustang Sally that he was playing in that vid... my 12-year-old grandson also liked playing that song on drums! Not only is he a great Chef his not to bad on the tubs good stuff.
Is he really known as a "drummer" though? Has he done any other work besides playing with The Beach Boys(although he IS decent on drums)? My feeling is that he's a actor/celebrity first--I believe that's how he got the BBs gig anyway.John Stamos
I don’t know, Dan…he was the first one I thought of before realizing I misunderstood the question. Is he really known as a "drummer" though? From the UK you could also add Eddie Jordan (ex F1 team owner, had a custom yellow Genista with the Jordan logo lacquered on), Jeremy Clarkson, Si King and Jamie Oliver (last two are well known TV cooks/chefs for non-Brits)justin beiber
billy bob thornton
jude law (unsure if he still plays, but he was photographed moving house with a definitely played set of drums a few years ago)
russell howard ( UK comedian)
