    Mark Brzezicki Garage Sale

That damage looks just like what happened from some of the gator cases about 15 years ago.

    Cruise Ship Drumming

Sort of off-topic, but the best part of my drum career was playing in a town where the cruise ships docked regularly. I was shocked by how many people can come off those ships into a small town.

How do I repair my 1979 Carroll Sound Wind Chime Rack?

The Spectrasound Mark trees used the same plastic tie loops but they were actually made of kevlar. I have no idea where he was getting them though. The wooden bar had a recess for the connector part so they were flush with the surface. I'd be concerned that regular plastic ties wouldn't last...

    Musician's Friend Scam Site

I just got the same message today. I guess fraud is not against their "Advertising Standards".

    Musician's Friend Scam Site

This particular fraudulent MF ad has been on fbook for weeks now. They've probably had thousands of complaints, but the ads are still there. As far as I'm concerned, fbook is promoting and profiting from fraud. Glad I saw this thread! I almost bought something.

    Corky Laing

I had a drum teacher who named his dog (a pomeraniac) after Corky Laing

    Okay Pearl people, explain this

It looks to me like the arms can be used so they're arching downward, which definitely could reach where a straight boom can't. There's a picture on Pearl's site, in the round inset here...

Ludwig Practice Pad Screws on the Bottom

I don't know about this Ludwig pad, but most pads have what's called a 1/4"-20 thread (the hole in the middle of the bottom of the pad) Older cymbal stands (1960's?) used that thread, but modern cymbal stand threads are usually 8mm or 6mm You could maybe replace the head tension screws with...

What do you do when ... (intrusive audience members)

I was playing in an ad hoc band that got together for an annual party, playing for hundreds of people outdoors. (coastal Maine, drunken fishermen, etc.) Guitar player's girlfriend (gorgeous!) was being hounded all day by the drunken village idiot. None of the band knew this was going on...

    DW sold to Roland?

Roland's "drum" sales are easily three times DW's, about 23% of Roland's business

    Drummers Cookbook...litterally

Oooooh, can I be editor? There needs to be an apostrophe after drummers in "Drummers Cookbook", or it sounds like some kind of cannibalism.

    Iron age drum stick

Coppiced trees are common around here - the tree is pruned back severely (maybe every year) to keep it small. Hazel is a tree (you know, hazel nuts). Naff, idk.

Sansui SP 2500 Speaker... where is the mid-range in this picture?

The five-inch speakers are the mids, so what you're hearing is the tweeter(s), I guess. There are two horn tweeters back there somewhere.

    What's With All the Gaskets?

I don't know if it's true or not, but supposedly gaskets can make up for the different radiuses (radii?) of bigger and smaller shells, allowing manufacturers to use the same lugs on different size shells. Was this ever really a problem? IDK. I removed some from a wooden snare (Gretsch Marquee)...

    Issue with Gretsch Renown???

I realize Jml has moved on from this set, but in his picture (post 29, above), the toms are mounted as high as possible on the L rods. There's more leverage for the tom to move the ball this way, or even just wobble. It might look dumb, but I always get the tom as low as possible on the L rod...
