Any other Sabian SR2 or AAX fans out there?

"I'm always 'short' one old K "
I'm always going for three 20s..

I had it but had to give the third latest purchase up
1) because it was light and when a 20" New Stamp is light (ie 1888g) there's no lows all Highs (I know odd but True) I knew that going in and I kinda bought it right but had to let it go (an Old K with "no lows" is heresy and just bad juju to "keep") but finding a third one cheap in these times is gong to be one wicked mission

Nice!!

I wish I could say, "This is my last setup." about my cymbals..

same...and I have been for 30 or so years...but at my jazz band practice today, I was thinking that it might be time for more "appropriate" hi hats for our sound. i have held off for 30 years though...

but I miss cymbal shopping

we will see....

What are you using that's so inappropriate for jazz?

Famous last words......
Tastes change - I've been perfectly happy with all the setups I've had and kept each one for many years.
I'm now hankering after some Paiste Signatures and only the same internal battle with myself over the spend is holding me back. Usually I gather every drum bit I've got but no longer use and add it to a trade in to soften the blow and I imagine this will go the same way shortly. 🤷‍♂️

Got a set of Ks about 12 years ago after using Paiste for a long time. My taste changed. I've been happy ever since.

That's pretty much my routine too.

It's interesting to look back at old "my cymbal setup" posts and think, "Nope, don't have those anymore!"

With unlimited amount of money, today, i'd look at Sabian first. Sabian are less common at my local stores, i'd' like to hear the AAX for sure. I am looking for 2 crashes eventually.

Glad for you that this is your final setup!

Congrats, @Drumolator! Those are great cymbals and a very clean, simple setup. Between those and your Mapex drums it seems like you’ve really got “your” sound figured out. I wanna be like you when I grow up! :) I think I’m there with drums and almost there with cymbals.

15" 90's era A Zildjian Quick Beats...I mean, I have been using them for years and have never had a complaint, but was thinking that something like the 15" K Mastersounds might be better...I do have the 1950's era 14" A Zildjians that came with the set, but they are sort of soft, and the hole is not big enough to fit modern hi hat clutchs

I had a 19" AAX Thin Crash that I took to church. My wife and I are planning to move before the year is over. So I may add that to my setup. Peace and goodwill.

I did add the 19" AAX Thin Crash to my setup. There was a cymbal at church to replace it. So I brought it home. All my cymbals are Sabian.
