The old ones were made in the UK and calleds just Club Heritage.

I wonder if you would notice a difference in sound/quality.

If you read my posts and threads and responses, you know I like thin shells. And lite weight shells. Partly because of ease of transport, and also the sound. They're my sound. Musical. A bit of ring and nice decay. Easily controlled and manipulated with head choice vs gels or wresting perfectly good drums into submission as nothing more than cardboard boxes with too-much muffling.
Nice find, congrats on the score!

But considering your statement I quoted above, I’m a bit curious about your head choice. I‘m seeing an Aquarian Focus X self-muffling head on the floor tom, which would seem to negate all the advantages of the thin shell you described.

No the original Premier made in England many years ago. Not these new copies. Nothing rare about these lol.

I am trying a few different heads yeah. That thin mylar ring since it's on inside it doesn't press much against the head. Not like if you sat something on top the head. I have sone of those DW Coated Clear drumheads I'll try, too.

@Rattlin' Bones Congrats on the beautiful drums... love the finish and your Dragonfly beater.

What might that strappy thing be on your pedal??

Good question. I had a spinal cord tumor. Benign. But removal did significant nerve damage to my legs. And my ankle doesn't flex. The strap is a bicycle toe clip that helps keep my foot on pedal.

Great looking kit. I dig the wrap!

Congrats. What a beauty.

The YouTube demo I watched of the trilogy was to me the best vintage sounding kit I’ve heard, though I’m not really in the market for one.

I find it curious that the die-hard Yamaha crowd rarely talks about the brand.

I play a Sakae too. It looks like the lugs are pretty similar. A pet hate of mine is the bass drum rods sticking out and poking into your cases, I like it when they’re recessed.

The Black kit looks beautiful.

Rufus is a great shop. I stopped in briefly on my grand road trip last year and they had some very cool stuff. Almost bought a fiberglass Grover snare. Should have.

That Sakae kit is super cool. Tyler and JJ had a pair with Tedeschi Truck Band for a minute there, and they always sounded great.

Awesome-you get to drink from the Holy Grail. Boy I'd like to take a sip of that. I had a fascination, wanting one bad, for nice Bop kits and the Sakae and the Canopus Yaiba bop were the two that stood out and beckoned me. Get em all tuned up like you prefer and make a video of just whacking them so we can hear the tone of them.

Read a highly convincing theory on DW - that shells aren't supposed to resonate, they're supposed to be as rigid as possible so that the HEAD can do its job and resonate...
