Some Elton John & Whitesnake stuff from our new lineup

Sorry for my absence here. There’s reasons I won’t go into, but thought the collective here might like to hear what I’m up to.

New vocal lineup in the band - still finding their feet, but lots of potential.

Here’s two videos from a recent show for 1,500 at the Westpoint Arena Exeter (UK). I especially like the Oleta Adams arrangement of the Elton John song. Deceptively tricky to pull off live.

Neither without errors, but a great stage vibe. & yes, our new male singer is 6’7"

Headphones on.

Andy.

As always, well polished musicianship and performance with great energy. All three are needed for maximum crowd participation and it seems many bands are lacking some of the finer nuances to pull it off - well played!

Thank you my friend! This band has been on a long journey (15 years). A few lineup changes, but the biggest one is a change of lead singer to new twin vocalists. They’re only 1 rehearsal & 3 shows in to date. Much work to do, including changing maybe 50% of the show songs to suit the new vocal arrangement, but for the first time in the last few years, I’m excited about the potential. The act has grown in stature, but each gig (mostly theatres these days) is a challenge. Nothing easy in music!

The Elton John track is a new addition, & in terms of vocal alignment, it ticks the boxes for me.

Your front-lady has a silky contralto (?) voice - it should be easy to find some songs to fit her range and the band's needs. I predict that FU will continue to stay busy!

Let me know if you need some suggestions for your front-lady! ;)

I liked it also. Every time I've listened to your clips, your band is always nailing it. It good you're excited about the future.

Thank you! Both singers are coming with suggestions for new tracks this year. We figured it best for them to decide what suits them (within certain criteria), we’ll see how that works out. Due to our collective availability (or lack thereof), it will take a while.

We do have gigs booked this year (mainly theatres + a few festivals), but we’ve already signed this year off as a formative year. Next year is booking up nicely though.

Thank you! There are shaky moments still, but it’s early days. With so little rehearsal availability, we’re adjusting on the job. That carries some risk when people are paying their hard earned money to see a performance, but we have little choice. We seem to have got away with it so far.

Thank you! Difficult for me to be objective on fluidity, but if that’s what you’re picking up, I’m a very happy old man(y)
I always found your playing good, but I had the sensation that sometimes your movements were a little stiff. Thanks to the camera behind you, I noticed in these new videos that your movements are more fluid than they used to be, which makes me a little jealous since MY movements are not as fluid anymore (being an old man myself, I notice that my wrists and hands are not working with the same fluidity as they used to when I was younger). I hope you won't take my words as criticism: I really always liked your playing and the sound of your drums, and the band is always doing great (the singers are really good!)!
