Snare Drum head for metal

Hello all! I recently put a new reso head on a 5.5x14 Pearl Masters Maple Complete snare, and plan on replacing the batter as well. Currently it has a Remo emperor coated vintage as the batter, and a Evans hazy 500 as the reso. I’m aiming for lots of attack and note separation when playing blast beats, akin to Flo Mournier, as well as durability. Any input or suggestions are greatly appreciated, thank you!

I have Remo coated Ambassador heads on the batter side of all 6 of my snares including my 3 metal snares. Reso side is a clear Ambassador Snare Side.

I really like the Ambassador X Reverse Dot. The thicker film plus the dot gives the head plenty of durability but since it's still single ply the head has good attack and articulation.

aquarian hi-impact

or

aquarian hi-energy

i use both in metal bands and they work brilliantly :) you'll want them tuned up so you get the rebound blast beats require :)

have been playing metal and punk all my life:

1962 Supraphonic 14x5 snare. Have always used Remo Coated Ambassador on batter and Remo Hazy snare side...my snare is nicknamed The Cannon by people on our scene her in town. A few sound guys don't even mic it. Batter head cranked pretty high a la Stewart Copland, but not crazy high like Aaron Kitchner

I have never broken a batter head either...
