@jda Curious, do you think Louis specified the much heavier bottom, or did he sort of just tell Zildjian that he needed more volume and lhe then left it up to the cymbalsniths to figure it out? Was it a group effort?

Is your 12” A a splash or meatier. Some of those small cymbals can be splash, crash, hihat top or bottom, even ride.

It's interesting Would not call it thin nor paper thin- it feels medium but is not heavy or stiff- ; It could be a part hat like a Top from the 60s but responds as a crash perfectly- So meatier.

Greatest Cymbal ever..

don't bother writing me a letter..

😁 It's all - a lot- about the Cup shape the very common Old Stamp K cup shape never done again.
!
Have C&G make that shape @toddbishop or do you have a similar on stock for viewing?
Because that's the Pinnacle (no cards or letter please..)

old stamp wide mushroom cup K. That's what Phil Grant was walking to all the name jazz drummers at that time. There may be 130 left on the planet and I've heard Jesus has 20 stashed away in Heaven for his own personal usage so that's 60 left here on earth
Istanbul old stamp IIa K.Zildjian 20" 50.8 cm

Ok coffee time.

You can see "era consistency" in this a 22" version of the Old Stamp cup. Old K was a small operation so consistency "was easy" (if was the same guys every day) making them.
The 22" old Stamp III K Zildjian mushroom-cup-

Era consistency with old Ks and there over their existence (not including prior primitive Constantinople era) Three Era from 1940-1978
Old- 1940-1958/9
Intermediate- 1959-1966
New- 1967-1978

build Sound design era's- Three.
Consistent thru an era.
Could set your watch to. Same team/design theme /skill capability thruout an era

Oh Here's comes the Rain!!

So many gorgeous rides, crashes and hats in this thread. So here're some redheaded stepchildren—my collection of 10" splashes.

my 10%22 splash cymbals.jpg

I've got this many 'cuz, well, I like splashes. But also because they tend to be inexpensive. So when I see one for sale, if it's cheap enough, I pick it up, because why not? My kids like 'em. I've also got a handful of 8" and 12" but 10s just feel right to me.

Strangely, I think the second-cheapest—the PSTX—is my favorite.

And, yes, I remain the world's worst photographer.

"every day's a picture"...
and I'm somewhat in love with the weird dimensions again...
well more so than last week...."

That’s a very strong sounding cymbal. The opening swell is magnificent. I wonder if the rivets would help to tame it and focus the stick. I find they usually do.

except with Intermediates the Highs are So strong (rivets just send hi's into hyperdrive)
there's no mids to attenuate so rivets all go to highs)
I drilled my 18 int. wish I wouldn't have , wouldn't dare- not even a chain goes on my 20 Int.
Rivets on New Stamps all day long. Intermediates no no not me)
