35th Anniversary of the Buddy Rich Memorial Concert in Los Angeles

John DeChristopher

Drums Ambassador
Just what the Doctor ordered. I mean Doctor Gadd!
I watched it on FB and a few sections again on YT.
I was afraid that those guys will show up again and ask for 14K or else they will shut down the Zoom session!!

@John DeChristopher THANK YOU for doing this. I shared this with a few friends of mine and we all enjoyed it. You have done such a great thing with your show, which is normalize these immortal players. I am sure I speak for most of the drumming community when I say "keep them coming", as these interviews are just special. I had never seen the Greg/Dennis/Louie feature before, that was special to see. I was also glad (and impressed) that Gregg took a moment to highlight the band, which is often overlooked anymore. Thanks again.

Man, these concerts were such a big deal when they happened. I started playing drums the year Buddy died at age 10. Every older dude I knew that played drums, whether they were a rock or a jazz or a whatever drummer, had at least one VHS copy of at least one of the three? four? tribute concerts at the time. I certainly got my copy as well. I remember laughing with one of my drum mentors at the time about a certain famous drummer, who couldn't swing to save his life! LOL!
