Definitely no reverb. I do use EQ and compression in mild amounts to get the sound closer to what your ears hear. Microphones hear differently than your ears do, so dry unprocessed microphone signal isn’t even remotely accurate.

I’m very transparent about what I do so if anybody has questions, I’m totally open to discuss. I know some others try to guard their secrets…
You do a really great job, especially when you guys do so much content. Out of the stuff I’ve heard in the wild that you’ve demo’d, it sounds pretty accurate to my ears.

So one thing I’ve always wondered…do you hear much of a difference between what you hear direct and what YouTube does?

Thank you!

Are you talking about what happens to the sound once uploaded to YouTube?

I am, yes sir.
It’s always a battle. YouTube definitely compresses the audio and I kind of hate it. I’ve been considering uploading the full resolution audio to a Google Drive link and letting people download that if they’re interested. It just requires that I have a bigger online cloud storage situation than I currently have.

That’s a good thought, but it seems like it’s a lot of effort to serve a relatively small audience willing to do it. But I wouldn’t talk you out of it, either. What do I know about selling drums online? ;)

After a week in a hot greenhouse, I took the pilgrimage to DCP. I always find it hard to leave the store; they have so many goodies.

I found some nice hats, too! Buttery and smooth, not as bright as Paiste. I won't hear how they fit with the rest of my pies until I return home later this month.

Bought a used Black Beauty from them a few weeks ago, shipped the same day I ordered. I was a little anxious about getting it delivered from the US to Norway, just because. Lots of check points, never know how much of a beating the package takes on its way. But it was all good. Won't hesitate ordering from them again.

And their Youtube content is just brilliant. When you don't live in proximity to a music store with lots of drums on display, having these guys is absolute gold. The amount of hours I must have spent listening to demos of snares and kits..

Just out of curiosity, how much did the shipping cost? I've seen many interesting products but I've never pulled the trigger because I live in Europe.

Oh my , look at all dem tasty Tama’s 😳.

I pass right by the area on my yearly trip from NY to Northern Maine for hunting season but never during business hours . Gonna have to change my departure time this November either leaving NY or coming back from Maine to coincide with them being open .

I’d like to pick up a new throne, HH stand, maybe an ok used double pedal( wanna start learning a bit as I’ve only ever played a single) and maybe a cymbal or two . Plus I just wanna visit and look around a bit . 🤤

Congrats on your purchase. Was it a standard or a B stock Black Beauty?

Shipping was $155. Even with that and VAT, it was a decent price all in all. It was a 14x8, and I don't see those often on the used market here.
Jesus, that's more than I anticipated... but yeah, I understand, there's not a lot of used ludwig stuff in Europe overall compared to brands like Premier

It's totally worth the detour time. I come to the Concord area once or twice a year and always take time to make a visit. Drummers of all levels come here, hit things, talk together, get insights into gear. This past weekend, Antonio Sanchez held a clinic. They have a cool little museum upstairs, too.

Edit: No sales tax for anything purchased in the store, either.

I don't think I'm nearly as States-centric in my thinking as many of my fellow Yanks, but then I read a statement like that and I'm just like

I mean, I get it. It makes sense. It's just so different.
