Going to 2112 Saturday---Give me strength or give me money!

Have a really good day.

Happy Birthday too 🎉 🎁

Glad you got some good stuff! I like our shirts a lot. They're just... comfortable. Wish I could have been there, but I've been mixing since 10 this morning! (And I'm typing this as a mix is being committed to the proverbial tape...)

I'll have to give that sizzle clutch a shot one of these days though. Sounds like a useful thing.

Ya, I did ask about you but they said you were working at your home studio. You do fantastic demos, by the way.

The Tama drop clutch was a nice change from the DW clutch that goes clank all the time, that’s for sure. I’m actually surprised it came from DW since they’re big with the hardware.

Don’t hate me because I scored big at 2112:

Two 2112 t shirts, a Tama Sizzle Touch drop clutch, and a used Evans ST Dry. Woohoo. But it’s nice to know you can get used heads for $5 and $10 if you want to try something new out and don’t want to get raked for new head prices. They have used sticks and hoops as well. $5 was the only reason I would buy an ST Dry, being an Ambassador guy, but it might be cool to have for a major change. Haven’t tried the clutch yet but I’m about to do so. Might do a separate review in a day or two, might not.

It’s a lot bigger store floor than I expected, and it is jam packed with old and new stuff. And yes, I saw the new Crav snares they got. Beautiful in person, but I already own the world’s greatest snare and they’re way expensive so I passed. Did see some other very interesting snares, but I wasn’t really inspired to get one. And seeing some of those drum sets with the gorgeous finishes I’ve seen in pics look even more amazing in person.

Definitely a fun store with great helpful staff and a good all around vibe. Wish I had more time to poke through the stacks of used cymbals and snares, but next time.

You had both money and strength going to this drum shop.
You had more money, because I guess you bought more items than originally planned.
You had strength, because it takes a Herculean level of strength to go to a well stocked drum shop and not buy another snare drum. :)
Congrats on your purchases. Happy birthday.

PS: The number 2112 is a palindrome number.

Wow, I’m a superhero!

Thx for the birthday wishes everyone!

Man, just going to 2112 is a birthday treat! I used to haunt that place back in the early 2000s… bought a goodly amount of product too. But the best thing about that place was the personnel. They were always cool and informative. Not AI.

I got to visit there maybe a year ago. I had to walk through the place 3-4 times to catch a glimpse at most of it. I always tell people if they need a drum rack or rack parts, check out 2112. I've never seen so many used parts for racks anywhere else.

Nice guys too!

I can vouch for the tons of used racks.

It's mah birfday Monday, so on Saturday we're going to Raleigh to eat at a Japanese steak house that we thought was part of the Kobe restaurant chain in Florida but isn't. But first...

...I'll be making my first visit to 2112 Percussion. I don't feel like I'm lacking in anything right now, but I might pick up a Tama Sizzle Clutch if they have one. But the only other thing I really want is a cheap beater 18" Ludwig bass drum, and they're extremely rare, and never very cheap.

So the likelihood I come back with something is pretty low, or at least that's what I'm going to tell myself until I get there.
Raleigh's a great town and 2112 is awesome!

I hope that you had a great time!
