If you want to get deep inside these grooves , study morrocan , yemeni and sahel signatures combined with Spanish and Portuguese textures . The notes of the cowbell create a melody in themeselves , so yeah, their individual pitch and the way their sustain interacts with the rest of the instruments is significant . But first you have to learn how to hear it for yourself . not depend on the ears of somebody else . Next thing you know they'll be an Elvin Jones sig cowbell . That's funny .

So if possible. "Tell me more " eg what is signature in reference to Yemen Moroccan etc
And Portuguese textures! I'm partly Portuguese myself .
