Your favorite recorded Bass Drum

The sound of Hal Blaine's bass drum in the intro to Be My Baby by the Ronettes has haunted my soul since the first time I heard it. To me it's the perfect bass drum sound, a punchy booming heartbeat.

But the worst one is the electronic kick on "Second Home By The Sea" - that Simmons sound is best reserved for tom use.
I'd add that Bill Bruford's electronic kick was great on Beat era King Crimson, as showcased in "Sartori In Tangier". Phil's own sound later for "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight" and "Domino" are also not bad. It depends on the tuning, and maybe Phil intentionally tuned it like a big tom on "Second Home By The Sea".

For me, Dave Grohl's bass drum sound on Songs for the Deaf (Queens of the Stone Age) is monstrous.
Big impact, super dry but with body, it fits perfectly to the mix.
Otherwise, John Bonham on When the Levee Breaks, timeless classic!

Versus Them - Parachute

Good bass drum sound, I like that one a lot. The rest of the drums sound good as well.

Is it my favourite? No idea, but a good one.
