Good question.
I'm quite good at having a focussed discipline with practice. I seem to be able to find an hour a day regardless of what's going on or how my mood is..... except since I had my shoulder injury at work 🙄.
I'm also good at thinking outside the box and being inventive when it comes...
1) is a splash. The carpet pile seems rather large in comparison to the cymbal. It's a very cleverly done photo.
2) hihat. Again, to me the carpet pile looks smaller in comparison to the cymbal....albeit a different carpet. I've got a hunch it's a hihat top...... maybe 14 inch??
3) I reckon...
They've kinda morphed into that silly realm that you mention. I kinda liked the older ideology they had by bringing in some good high quality players like Frank Briggs, Sonny Emory and that awesome brush player who imparted some of their knowledge and broke a few concepts down with some PDFs to...
I'm guaranteed here to raise a few eyebrows.......BUT.
C.W McCall's "Convoy", The theme to Knight Rider, The theme to Duke's of Hazzard and the theme to The Automan TV series are all new songs that I have on rotation in the car at the moment.
I picture myself as Michael Knight driving KITT...
Figuring out what is too much practice is hard. Working out effective, efficient practice is a fine art. I guess it's a difficult question to answer. Maybe it's more of a case of too much practice of an irrelevant thing to your playing perhaps. I dunno.......but I looked at what I played as a...
I've had relatively good experiences with house kits. Most venues that I'm familiar with I believe do try their best to cater for the drummer. Most house kits have been old pearl exports that have the old Remo Pinstripes that just need a few tweaks here and there to sound half decent. I guess...
Prior to COVID, the cover band scene was quite lucrative for me. We did 3 gigs a week on average and I was making approx $1,000 a week. That certainly covered the cost of sticks, heads plus a few cymbals and bits and bobs. I was able to save a little coin out of it and keeping fit and improving...
Legacies will last. Hopefully things like wisdom we pass down to the next generation will continue on with that flow. I believe concepts, ideas, discoveries are relatively sturdy and will outlast anything else......as long as they are GOOD ideas.
My plan for a toaster made out of banana peels...
That's actually a really good question.
Sometimes you just have to be a bit selfish.......if you have only those two choices, then the audience are to be facing the sun.
The Aussie summer sun can be devastating even in the early evening. There is absolutely nothing more distracting than a...
Ironically, as I age I'm sure I'm shrinking. Yet the ground seems a heck of a lot further away. As in if I gotta get on my knees for anything, it takes 10 times as long to get back up again.......my knees have taken years of abuse from running with a backpack of bricks and dragging a damn car...
Love the kit!
I believe that Mapex is my fave brand.
I love my Orion Birdseye Maple set....... devastating.
Mapex really punches above their weight and offer just so many wonderful options for everyone.
Beautiful finishes and magnificent instruments to play.....some of their logo designs are...
