Most impressionable bar band.

Some of the bands at small venue touring level that I didn't like or even respect have had players that I did unexpectedly later respect go on to have artistic and or commercial success.

But that's short sighted of me. For instance I hated Huskerdo (sp).

This is confusing to those like Son of Vistalite Black who are under a different impression of the meaning of "impressionable."

Alanis Morisette an Ottawa girl . She was on the local scene around here before hitting big . She started out disco .

I remember Sue Foley as a fifteen year old blowing our minds at The Downstairs Club Tuesday weekly jam ( Ottawa ). Her dad had to accompany her . She's currently queen of the Texan tele sliders.

Kelly's Heroes at Robert's in Nashville. I drive 6 hours a couple of times a year just to go see them.

Rat Race Choir is arguably the best band I've ever seen. They inspired any/every NY prog band. Lead player (Mark Hitt RIP) played with everyone, including Pete Entwistle. Steve Luongo on drums was a beast (also played with just about anyone imaginable including Entwistle, Joe Walsh, Alan Parsons and Ritchie Blackmore), and did all the Led Zeppelin vocals, which always blew me away. They played the same circuit as Twisted Sister, who got all the hype because if their show, but they weren't in the same league at RR musically.

I first heard of her down here in the US around 1986 or so, on You Can't Do That On Television.

I remember trying to convince my friends I had heard of her years ago on a kids skit show...until that bit of trivia became more known.

Didn’t see them at that point but I saw them in a theater with Reese Wynans playing keyboards, and I was surprised at how massive Chris’ drums sounded despite not being a hard hitter at all.
That has baffled me for YEARS! He has an amazing touch. It does look like he's just tapping the drums, but it sounds so huge!

None for me that I'm aware of, in my remote corner of the world... the bass player in my band was in a bar circuit many years ago that Garth Brooks and Toby Keith had played in, so it wasn't unusual for him to have seen them around. Interesting stories.

Pat Travers , another Ottawa boy .In the early seventies at the age of seventeen his band, Red Hot ,packed the House at the Chaudiere Green Door room and they were there often . He eventually left for big time USA and did alright . Really ALRIGHT!!

The thread definitely needs a title re-write. Most bar bands I've seen weren't really that impressionable.

Eric Gales recently did a fantastic show at a bar that my last gigging band turned down because of pay.
He has a great band to go with his unique and powerful vocabulary. Cost was $30 to walk right up to and watch this display. Wow.
