Huh. I really like this even as it's not at all the way I'm wired. (Other than the hiking bit--I'm of course with you on that.)If anything, I'll be remembered as the guy lots of people called "Stro," even though he doesn't prefer that shortening of his name.
Seriously though - I don't care about being remembered. When I go for a hike, I go to see the world, and I try to change it as little as possible in my passing through.
Same with life, for the most part! Lol
Ok. I hadn't considered that. I should have considered it since monetization is obviously a goal of the investor group who bought the site.Or, they do see it as valuable and you'll have to pay to access it.
Hey @MntnMan62 thanks for bringing this up. We are adding that information back onto our site. We just needed to undergo some formatting changes to ensure the content is up to date, has the correct images we're allowed to use (for copyright purposes), and can be hosted properly on our new servers. I know change is difficult, especially when our site has been the same for so long. However, I assure you these changes will be helpful in the long run, and they will allow us to have a better site with more information and resources. As for the content, yes, I'm the one handling the news right now. With our current resources, that will continue. However, we of course want to make sure many drummers and contributors have a voice. That's why I would love to take some time to gather more input from other drummers here in the forum. Please feel free to message me anytime here directly. We would love to include more of your input on drummers, highlights, trends, news, opinions, and other topics. I'm happy to share some quotes in our content from any of you here in the forum when it makes sense for the topic.I hadn't really noticed the new webpage so decided to check it out. Every single news article is authored by Austin Weatherhead. Frankly, I see that as NOT a good thing. I would think having multiple news sources would be a sign of legitimacy. But with only one person putting up news articles makes me concerned that this new owner really doesn't have much of a plan here. It seems that change is the only thing they may be after here. And in my view, change is NOT what is needed as it relates to content. And I don't take comfort in hearing Austin say that all those drummers and the respective content that brought most of us to this forum is "still available". If it's still available, why not keep it up there? Just removing what might arguably be some of the most valuable content from our view suggests that they really don't see that content as all that valuable. I hope I'm wrong about all this, but I'm not encouraged by what I'm seeing thus far. Call me a pessimist.
Where are the bios videos and photos previously associated with DW? If you want to include more relevant info start there with the previously available resources. They should never have been taken down.We would love to include more of your input on drummers, highlights, trends, news, opinions, and other topics.
New poster here. To reiterate what a lot of people here have said, the main reason I loved Drummerworld was the profiles. Imagine my surprise to find them gone. I hope you fulfill your promise to restore them, in full.Hey @MntnMan62 thanks for bringing this up. We are adding that information back onto our site. Don't be a stranger! Shoot me a message.
I was going to make this same post this week. No word from the mods, no movement on restoring the site. Since they deleted the site with no notice, I worry that one day we will come to the forum and it will be gone also.Wondering if there is an ETA for putting the drummer bios and videos back up?

There’s another thread about it. The site is under new ownership and they removed the old content. They claimed to have retained it and have said it might return in some form down the road.Greetings dear drummers and peers. Do you know where are the biographies of the drummers ? Are they gone forever? It was my favourite section. Younger generations used to learn more information thru that encyclopedic part of Drummerworld. Now it is news feed only oriented !
Thanks
there is some truth- it was stated that some of the bio's well needed updates (death's..) Not really much more than that tho huhI miss it too. I don't know anything about website design but I don't know what takes so long about reposting all the old info.
I'm worried it's not coming back, and didn't have to be deleted. This whole thing has a very "DOGE-y" feel to it.
