Yes, no problem at all as long as it's been properly done. I bought an 18" K Hybrid Crash from a chap called Benjamin Camp in the UK, who has made a good business from doing this and recycling cymbals into jewellery etc. It has three small scalloped repairs, all very well done and finished.Hi, does anyone have any experience of ‘repaired’ cymbals? See you get different types of repairs, scallop, dog bone etc.
I’ve found a used crash I might buy, its nice and affordable, but has a scallop repair. Any thoughts?
I've been using it for 5 years now with no issues at all, it was cheap as cheaps comparatively and sounds just as good as the other cymbals it sits alongside( mix of A Customs and Ks). I've had a 2002 18" crash from him as well that gets used for rock gigs in a set of 2002s, I'll have had it about 7yrs now, again no issues.
If it's someone that's just had a go in their garage I wouldn't go near it, but from someone reputable they're fine.
