I’m making a concerted effort to bring a four piece out more often in 2025. I don’t need the mounted tom for my simpleton playing, but I like the way it looks having it there. From yesterday’s great gig. I probably hit the mounted tom five times total in a two hour gig.

I like this E-kit conversion. Simple, but I bet its very effective. I notice you fly the ride off a dog bone. Do you retain that with a regular cymbal, when you play the kit acoustically, or do you change out to a regular stand for that?

And knowing how musical and well orchestrated your playing is, I’m quite certain those 5 hits were impactful and served the music perfectly.

Always love seeing pics of your classy black DeeDubs!

Is your cymbal set up Carlock(ish) done consciously?. It just hit me.
1) flattery will get you everywhere with me
2) my cymbals - here there and everywhere- are influenced from an earlier time than does my Carlock.
it comes from Elvin most; Tony Mel and that guy from Humble Pie Jerry Shirley

Thank you!

I don't use that kit acoustically, but I would use the dog bone with a regular cymbal if I did. I also started using the dog bone with the WMP Gretsch bop kit when I ditched the riser.

I did shorten the vertical tube and the boom arm on the mini boom.

There is plenty of room on the tom mount post with an 18" bass on the floor. Things could get tight with a riser or with a 20 incher, depending on how high you put the tom. I think a 22 incher is a nonstarter.
