Yes, and it comes up maybe in a more casual, organic way.But we do talk about vintage drums and cymbals on here through the course of the existing forums.

Ya, but I can appreciate both approaches. DFO is great for getting facts quickly, and DW is great for getting opinions. Plenty of overlap to go around, though.Yes, and it comes up maybe in a more casual, organic way.
The moderating at DFO doesn’t make sense at all .I frequent both forums . Each have their strong points . I took a two year hiatus from Drumforum.org after another forum member (that loved local to me ) physically threatened me on open forum and the Admins/Ownership did nothing other than deleting the post where I was threatened . Told me a lot about how much that ownership group cared about their membership .
I like the wider age range here . I feel very comfortable here and like the members . It was nice to JDA made it over here and providing his curious blend of humour and expertise . Drumbob was another that I appreciated seeing participate here . We had been long distance friends for about 25 years .
They have had threads like this. Do a search on their site. Plus there are a ton of comments (mostly people patting themselves and the forum on the back) slagging drummerworld.I'm sometimes active at both forums. Some far more knowledgeable ones are also active in both. Main difference: the other forum doesn't have a thread like this.
Now, figure yourself and think about it.
Your whole first paragraph was trashing the band, my friend. I don’t get why you don’t see that. “Pretentious” is not a compliment or even a neutral word. It’s 100% an insult and a fairly big one. Some would argue that it’s also bullying to accuse them of being about the photos and not the music.
That said, it’s your opinion and you’re welcome to voice it. But you also will get fallout for it from fans and friends and that’s just the way it is, whether you’re on DFO or not.
Which I find amusing. I see almost the same active posters in both places. I mean the ones that open threads and comment on all threads. They have had threads like this. Do a search on their site. Plus there are a ton of comments (mostly people patting themselves and the forum on the back) slagging drummerworld.
I do like that idea. Vintage forum.Or they could just add a vintage drum forum to DW. But we do talk about vintage drums and cymbals on here through the course of the existing forums.
