What's the Difference between DrumForum.org and Drummerworld.com/forums

The moderating at DFO doesn’t make sense at all .
And I really miss JDA
 
I'm sometimes active at both forums. Some far more knowledgeable ones are also active in both. Main difference: the other forum doesn't have a thread like this.
Now, figure yourself and think about it.

They have had threads like this. Do a search on their site. Plus there are a ton of comments (mostly people patting themselves and the forum on the back) slagging drummerworld.

Mott The Hoople was pretentious. ELP was pretentious. I grew up listening to Mott and ELP. Love them. But yeah they were pretentious. Is that trashing these bands? Yes. No. Maybe.

Here is a link to an article about pretentiousness in famous bands. I like what they said, which is basically what I was saying on DFO. In return I got insults and challenges. No one actually rebutted my assertion that band was over-coached and came off pretentious. And that is why I no longer interact much with DFO. A lot friendlier around here, with better mods. Better discussions.

Here is what Far Out Magazine says about pretentious/bands/albums:
Fame is a dangerous thing. When you have stadiums full of people cheering what you are doing and fans all over the world constantly singing your praises and calling you a genius, it takes a big person not to let it go of their head. This often leads to the production of albums that are quite abstract and otherworldly in their execution but that an artist believes they should release because it’s an example of their genius. Which I find amusing. I see almost the same active posters in both places. I mean the ones that open threads and comment on all threads.

Some of them seem indeed full-time online. On Facebook or Whatsapp, they'll have a private group, without paying a member fee to block ads...

I do like that idea. Vintage forum.

And delete the Your Gear under Your Place. Just let us post about our gear in the gear forums, because they lead to discussions about gear and dovetail into other member's gear and opinions on gear.
 
I browse drummerworld more out of the two but I have gone to drumforum to get some stuff cleared about replacement pieces, but I do find it more useful here, so far.
