And furthermore - after reading some of those 2015 threads about whether or not Peter Criss was a bad drummer, or why would Gene and Paul pick such a guy to be in the band - I just don’t get the attitude. It’s always amusing listening to the Monday-morning quarterbacks talking about what...
Without getting into that argument, considering I’m trying to stay close to at least the 30-35 bands’ drummers were covering, I think I’m getting close. There are some I can replicate easier than others, but I’ll never be 90%. Like I notice I lift my hi hat hand out of the way on the backbeat...
Maybe you should get with a teacher if it’s something you really want to do?
I know lotsa bands that absolutely require a singing drummer when looking for subs, so being able to do it would be advantageous.
Yeah - you didn’t complain back then! I started when snare drums had leg rests and a single over the shoulder strap! The advent of the carrier was a god-send! I remember seeing tympani lines wearing their drums with straps! Crazy times!

Ok bro - you convinced me and I couldn’t pass them up. $200 for pedals listing for $900? That puts them in DW9000 territory. I’m just curious to see if I can re-build them for left-footed play. If I can’t, I’ll send them back. But - they look very symmetrical and I have a feeling I can do...
Thick and chonky mean the same thing to me. I liked the rimshots I was getting.
But I must note, with this new band, I am in no way playing as hard as I can. They’re a working business and getting fired for being too loud is not in their vocabulary. So I’m usually coasting along at 50%...
So I did a gig with this new head and I have to say, I like it. I’ve never played one before (after all these years), and I was pleasantly surprised. The coated head was thick enough and with those little vent holes, the drum did sound a little dryer which was what I needed. So I got a nice...
