I've hunted but cant find one.
Pref blue tooth type communications(though that might be a bit slow...prob have to be wired...maybe broad spread laser with a receiving unit on the pedal(shielded to avoid potential show laser cross talk...except for show smoke/fog might cause difficulty...ugh...back to wires...as radio is really a pain and encryption is a complexity best avoided)?
Imagine getting different characteristics depending on what you do with the beater AFTER the bass drum attack peaks...like bending, distorting, sustain...or different compression applications or even triggering other sounds...just by burying the beater and pressing or a predictive 'just before impact'....or...
Chain anything to it you want...maybe set the output to have little to no effect when getting off the head quickly....or invert the idea...sustain whatever you have chained when generating short spikes from the F.S.R.
Could even use it without an actual strike...just with movement of the pedal(at very sensitive settings which can be ignored with strikes(since the ratio of force is so much greater)
Sure, you could use standard triggers on the head but thats not gonna achieve what I am thinking...nor would a standard trigger attached to a mallet do it as it would change the sound of the bass drum(and consistent triggering by placing the trigger on the back of the beater head is a nightmare.
I can see how to make one but I can also see wasting loads of time I should spend on other things....would rather buy one and spend my time using it instead of designing/prototyping/testing/repeat...getting the proper seating and interface material let alone wiring...Im a drummer not an engineer...I just play one on the internet
