Thank you! Both singers are coming with suggestions for new tracks this year. We figured it best for them to decide what suits them (within certain criteria), we’ll see how that works out. Due to our collective availability (or lack thereof), it will take a while.
We do have gigs booked...
Thank you my friend! This band has been on a long journey (15 years). A few lineup changes, but the biggest one is a change of lead singer to new twin vocalists. They’re only 1 rehearsal & 3 shows in to date. Much work to do, including changing maybe 50% of the show songs to suit the new...
Sorry for my absence here. There’s reasons I won’t go into, but thought the collective here might like to hear what I’m up to.
New vocal lineup in the band - still finding their feet, but lots of potential.
Here’s two videos from a recent show for 1,500 at the Westpoint Arena Exeter (UK). I...
So sorry I’m late to the party. I visit here infrequently these days, & my life is full of priorities at a time when I’m meant to be taking it easy. My health isn’t that great, but I can’t help throwing myself into stuff 110% - it’s just how I’m programmed,
Ok, both of the kits in discussion...
Billy Ward quote is right on the money. As for the e-kit vs a-kit discussion, pretty much two different instruments.
For sure, the skills are transferable, but the approach is different, & so usually is the resulting musical interpretation.
Other than e-cymbals (which are just utterly useless...
So long as they maintain enthusiasm, they’re definitely keepers for sure. Really easy to work with, & yes, I was impressed by their willingness to jump straight in with both feet. Give it two or three gigs, & I reckon they’ll transition from just getting through the gig to actually “performing”.
Good ob’s on the reverse spinal tap!.
Next Wales gig is May 31st the Globe theatre, Hay on Wye. A really small local theatre - it’s like playing in a large living room. Kinda cool vibe. We strip the band down to basics for a gig like this, & charge very economical ticket prices accordingly.
Why thank you sir! For sure, it’s a work in progress, but early signs are good. They’re both really easy to work with too. & that helps a lot.
The ladies in the audience where all over 6’ 6” Lew - can’t be a bad thing;)
A few of you may remember the band I’ve been in since 2010. Our first singer regrettably suffered a mild case of death. Our last singer was with us for 8 years. A real talent, but things move on. This time, we decided to move to a twin lead vocal format.
We auditioned a load of singers...
Nailed it! I spent years delving into this, or more precisely, the mechanisms that affect / enhance the resonant profile of the instrument, then how to control it.
Hi Baz, I’m sorry to hear of your circumstance. I have found myself contemplating my "next phase” for different reasons, but despite the negatives of gigging (hauling, setup, back office, herding cats, etc) getting old real fast, it’s difficult to let go.
My plan is to transition to original...
