My big announcement - I'm moving to Nashville!

This is great news! This is all I have ever done, as a job, since 11 years old.
Nashville is mostly all about session work, right? Or singer-songwriters doing open mics and hoping to get discovered, or have someone want to record songs they wrote? Or the musical production business? Not sure what you're after or why Nashville for a young drummer. You should reach out to Sofia and make that contact - I'm thinking she can be a wealth of info for you in your endeavors.

I'm not a moderator, but moved because postings about one's self or one's own equipment etc. go in the Your Place Forum. I have seen some posts about kits that were hey look at my new kit (like one of my posts did) that also got moved to Your Place.
Thx... makes sense!

Great news Gina!

You've obviously worked hard.

Wishing you all the best.

Not that I mind, but just curious, why was this thread moved from “general”, where it probably should be, to “introduce yourself”? I have been a member here since 2009. This is not an initial introduction. I thought I had put it in the right place? Just looking for clarification?
G

Because your post is not about drumming in general, but news about you personally. If you read the subforum descriptions, you'll see that this here is the place to talk about who you are, where you live, your playing, your gear, etc. If you want to talk about your personal life and where you are moving to, this is the obvious place to do it.

Also the thread title was edited. If you read the posted rules, they say "Please use a subject for a new thread that explains the point of the thread. 'Hey, check this out' or 'What do you think' or '????' does not offer any information and isn't likely to get the response that you wish, and vague or misleading titles will be modified." Your post was titled "My Big Announcement!," which obviously is literal clickbait. And on top of that, the only thing included in the post was a link to Facebook. No big announcement, no information, just a link to get clicks on your social media platform.

Also also, the posted rules explain that the threads will be moved, edited, etc., at the moderators' discretion to keep the forum organized, and you are asked there not to discuss the moderation of the posts here in the forum, because as you can see there's not much more boring than a moderator explaining the dull aspects of the job while also pointing out that had you read the rules this post would have had an appropriate title and would have been posted in the appropriate subforum to begin with (and maybe would have included an actual Big Announcement!).

Most of your posts on this forum are to discuss your videos, your gigs, your social media, your playing, and your gear, all of which are perfectly fine, but when you don't actively participate in a community other than for self-promotion, you tend to miss out on the ins and outs of how that community operates.

I hope this answers your question.

We are generally a very supportive group of musicians here, but we don't like to feel as though we are being used. Those that do post videos, gear, playing etc. are doing so in the spirit of entering into the wonderful community offered here. Not all pearls of wisdom come wrapped with the degree of positivity that some of us may desire. Nonetheless they can still be truth. :)

OK, no problem. Why don’t we just remove this post entirely.? Thank you.

You might laugh, but I actually wondered if you would say that. You had an announcement to make, you made it, it's now in the right place with the right title, all is well with the world, and you still have the link to your Facebook post (although your website linked in the signature of all of your posts seems to be down). I'll do you a favor and lock this thread, so your information can remain here for all to see.
