Kind of a spin off from the Where Do You Live State. But other than yourself what well known drummers are from your home state or facimile there of?

My state of Massachusetts:
Hal Blaine
Steve Smith
Joe Morello
Mike Mangini
Kenny Aronoff
Sib Hashian
Vic Firth
David Robinson
Stephen Jo Bladd

That's off the top of my head not too bad for a small state. I would say that it would be difficult to name them all from bigger states.

Bobby Berge on Tommy Bolins Private eyes CD. I catch him at local pubs checking bands and he's doing nothing!. Check him out on that. Not a Thomas Lange..or Cobham but unique out the wazoo. Doing nothing!?...Bobby Berge?. I'm perplexed.

I got Pittsburgh and Philadelphia in mine so I'll go with
Art Blakey Spider Rondinelli (George Benson) west side and Albert "Tootie" Heath brothers East

My mom knows a woman who’s Dad hired Van Halen to play her party when they were all teenagers in the 70s. Maybe you know her. Her name is Barbara Leinenweber.

Illinois here, and I'm sure there are several, but I can only recall Gene Krupa.

Figured I'd Google it and see, this was at the top of the page:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AI Overview
Several notable drummers are from Illinois. Some examples include Brendan Gamble, Terreon Gully, Frank Hudec, and Kris Myers. Other drummers from Illinois listed on Wikipedia include Mike Heidorn, Thymme Jones, and Jess Kirkpatrick.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With all due respect, I haven't heard of any of them. In the actual Google results was a Wikipedia link with more familiar names. The A.I. response also shows three names from the Wikipedia page, but I didn't recognize them either. I guess Bun E. Carlos, Barrett Deems and Louie Bellson were too obscure? 😮

Adding Dave DiCenso to the Mass list.

Not a name I know ...... but a lot of those parties were "open" ..... pretty much anyone with a flyer just walked on in. Summer before my "freshman" year started, I saw Genesis play free twice at Hamilton Park, in Pasadena. And saw Dave w/Red Ball Jet at the Sierra Madre Rec. Center. Then my freshman welcome dance, Genesis played again. Good times (y)

Mickey Curry is from my home town, our mothers worked together years ago. I used to see him a lot in town.
