could believe "twin tom" sets work best when (and only when?) there is "twin Floors".. ( in essence doubling a four piece)

Your comment reminds me of the day I went to pick up the Ludwig kit.
The guy was sent two identical kits (apparently a mistake was made either in the order, or when being shipped). The guy asked me if I wanted to buy both kits, "enticing" me with the thought of a "doubled up" kit....I passed on that idea.

not meaning to say doubling is bad no not at all it's just without the second floor tom a 5 pc twin tom single floor may be
one floor short,.. the well known Japanese haiku

No certainly not. It's just your story reminded me of that....and now you've got me thinking about music based on a measure in 5, a measure in 7 and another measure in 5.
