Hello All,

I thought we could have a thread dedicated to our respective best drum-related video, song, equipment, instructional tip, experience, etc., from 2015. Whatever moved, inspired, helped, entertained, or otherwise stood out to you from your drumming life, post it here.

I'll start with what may be a tip that is most obvious to many of you but it finally sunk in for me (thanks to this forum). I stopped trying to see how fast I could play things with a metronome and now concentrate on practicing things slowly but with precision.

Happy New Year!

I never paid much attention to Thomas Lang and I don't remember why I happened upon one of his videos, but his enthusiasm is infectious and I found myself glued to Youtube watching his various studio excerpts, etc.

The video below in particular wows me every time, where he's explaining a groove he put together for a promotional video:

Thanks to this forum I discovered and read these three books:

"The War of Art" by Steven Presfield
"Effortless Mastery" by Kenny Werner
"Inside Out" by Billy Ward

Thank you guys and gals.........

The best thing for 2015 was getting back to playing drums with musician friends from way back in the eighties. It's like coming home. And since they are pro/semipro musicians it has led me to start practice for the first time in over 25 years!! And that is needed. Found this excellent forum that led to start a subscription for Bill Bachman's drumworkout and my first Skype lesson with him, more to follow. It's a long way to go, and it's hard to relearn and get away from old bad habits, but I'm determined and willing to put in the time so next year looks quite promising.
Happy New Year to you all!

The best in 2015 for drums, drumming and drummers...

The London Drum Show in November... and this forum!

2016 will probably be the same :)

The best of 2015 was 1) that it's over and 2) that I retired.
